Philippians 2:1-11

1. “no reputation” from Greek word kenoō - v.7

   1. Means to empty

   2. Occurs in three other verses

      1. Romans 4:14 idea of to make void

         1. Similar idea of void in 1 Corinthians 9:15

      2. 1 Corinthians 1:17 to make of none effect.

   3. Empty, void of what?

      1. His Deity or Divine attributes? No

         1. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

   4. What then?

      1. Certainly His reputation.

      2. Relinquished His glory

         1. John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

   5. Took on the form of a servant and in the likeness of men

2. Why? - v.8

   1. To become obedient unto death

3. What God can do with an empty vessel!

   1. What if you and I became empty?

   2. Let this mind be in you – v.5
